WEEKLY NEWS LETTERS FOR SPORTS PICKS

Are weekly news letters a good resource for sports picks ?

I do not believe that weekly newsletters are a valid resource for picking games. The newsletters are a marketing tool to promote picks in different categories. For example, some of these newsletters will promote their picks in the following manner, 5 stars, 4 stars, dog of the week, total of the week etc. Now lets say their 4 star picks go 2-0. All they will promote is the winning catagory. No mention of the losers. This is a form of marketing, not handdicapping. These newsletters are done by marketing people not handicappers. They are usually printed on Sunday or Monday for Tuesday delivery. Having picks this far ahead of time is bad info because many things can happen to change a point spread in four days.

I enjoy sports picks news letters. They usally have lots of good free football information. So what if they emphasize their handicapping winners. They are out to sell selections to a betting public.

Does educated bet put out a News letter on Thursday or Friday filled with free college Ncaa & pro Nfl football picks ?
