New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte talked for about 2½ hours Monday with lawyers from a congressional committee looking into drug use in baseball.
After speaking to Congress and leaving the offices Pettitte did not speak to reporters. Pettitte lent credence to former Senate majority leader George Mitchell’s findings by acknowledging he received two injections of human growth hormone from McNamee. Mcnamee told Mitchell he injected Pettitte two to four times with HGH — and two days after the report was released in December, Pettitte said he took HGH for two days to deal with an elbow injury in 2002.
I like the honesty by Pettitte, from the very beginning he did not hide anything. He came right out and said that he did use it for only two days when he was injured. And by doing this, the focus is not on him at all anymore. It is all on Clemens now and if he is lieing about this then he is in for a lot of questions. So on February 13 under oath we are going to hopefully find out the truth about all this stupid steroid use!
