Do not let records fool you when betting on sides in hockey
When betting on hockey sides wins and losses mean nothing. Like baseball the most popular bet is picking the winner of the game, straight up, with no pointspread.
Sounds easy but instead of a pointspread you have to bet the odds.
Here is an example:
You bet 3 games and take the favorites
Detroit – 200 to win 100
Ottawa – 220 to win 100
Anaheim – 230 to win 100
Now Detroit and Ottawa win you cash your tickets for $ 200
Anaheim loses you lose $230Your record for the day is 2 and 1. That is 67% winners. But when you add the most important part, the money, you just lost $ 30.
Do not fall for the hype some services promote with wins and losses. It is the bottom line that counts.
