Denver Nuggets forward Nene is planning to returning to action Thursday, 2½ months after undergoing surgery to remove a malignant testicular tumor.

He planned to play about five minutes against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Nene participated in a full scrimmage Wednesday and in the team’s shootaround Thursday. Before that, he had been limited to shooting, light running and 1-on-1 drills. Nene underwent a single dose of chemotherapy last month. He averaged 6.4 points and 6.4 rebounds before his illness.

After writing my first blog about the death of another young life I thought that this was the perfect story to go with. This man just had surgery to remove a tumor and is now going to play basketball in the NBA again…GOOD FOR YOU! He comes back with the Nuggest just out of the playoffs chasing the Warriors for the 8th spot and now with the return of Nene look for Denver to capture that 8th spot. They will not be knocking out the Warriors but the Mavs, who will slowly fall out without there franchise player DIRK!

Even though Nene only averaged 6 and 6 a game he was a boost of energy for that team and now with hid return they will be playing inspired ball for the rest of the season and I am not gonna lie to you I would not want to see the Iverson and Melo in the first round!
