Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson has a separated left shoulder and will miss Cleveland’s Game 6 against the Boston Celtics.
Gibson, one of the Cavs’ best perimeter shooters, left in pain early in the fourth quarter Wednesday night following a collision and did not return. The team said an MRI revealed a first-degree separation and estimated he would miss one or two weeks. The Cavaliers trail 3-2 in the best-of-seven series and face possible elimination on Friday night.
They’ll miss Gibson, who emerged as a star Game 6 of last year’s Eastern Conference finals when he made five 3-pointers and scored 31 points — 25 in the second half — as the Cavaliers closed out the Detroit Pistons. It is a very very big loss for the Cavs…Gibson blew up last season at this point in the playoffs and I think that he is the best outside shooter the Cavs have. When the Celtics double Lebron he is always open and about 95% of the time comes up big, but without him I am not sure if they can win the series. He is obvisouly out for game 6 and game 7 so now the rest of the Cavs outside thearts are going to have to step up there game. O and yeah Lebron your going to have to go for 40. But you know what…I am going to make a very bold prediction…The Cavs and Jazz will win in 7…believe it!
