The New York Yankees on Friday chose Chien-Ming Wang to start on Opening Day at home against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Wang has won 19 games each of the past two seasons. The right-hander lost out on his chance to start last season’s opener when he strained his hamstring during spring training. Wang pitched in a minor league game Friday instead of facing Tampa Bay, a team he is scheduled to go against in the second series of the regular season. He allowed five runs — four coming in his last inning — and six hits over 5 2/3 innings. Wang threw 60 of 89 pitches for strikes. He struck out three and walked one.
Although Wang struggled in last years playoffs he does get the nod to go this year…but think about it what Yankee not named Jeter has struggled in October. I wrote this blog for all you northeasterns out there who can not get enough YANKS AND THE SOX! I mean its only March and we are already talking about them…BRUTAL!
So good luck to Wang in the opener but honestly who really cares about it…I no I don’t. Come talk to me in September when the SOX AND THE YANKS are fighting for the AL East crown because we all know that they will be the only two in it in September.
