1600 Relay Team

Marion Jones’ former relay teammates paid the price Thursday for her doping offenses, losing their medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee executive board disqualified and stripped the medals from the athletes who won gold with Jones in the 1,600-meter relay and bronze in the 400-meter relay. Her teammates on the 1,600 squad were Jearl-Miles Clark, Monique Hennagan, LaTasha Colander-Richardson and Andrea Anderson. The 400-relay squad also had Chryste Gaines, Torri Edwards, Nanceen Perry and Passion Richardson. Jones teammates had previously refused to give up their medals, saying it would be wrong to punish them for her violations. They have hired a U.S. lawyer to defend their case, which could wind up in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

I dont like what these chicks said at all, that they refuse to give up there medals. Is she or is she not there teammate, I believe that she is so with that being said…doping or not without Marion Jones this team is not even in the running for the gold. The one thing that I have been taught by every single coach that I have played for was we win as a team and we lose as a team and for this TEAM to say why should we be punished for her cheating is ridiculous. They were a team and if one person went down they all go down. Now I am not sure if they knew she was doping but regardless she did and now they will have to pay the price…But I am not to happy with the way that they are conducting themselves..in case you were wondering!
