University of Florida defensive lineman Matt Patchan is recovering after being shot in the shoulder while at a Tampa-area park.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said in a statement issued Monday that Patchan is expected to fully recover. Patchan, who was shot Friday night at Sadie Park in Brandon, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The coach told the newspaper that Patchan is back in Gainesville and is expected to visit doctors at Shands Hospital on Monday.

I am not 100% sure how this kid was shot but this is just another athlete that something bad has happened to. And it just shows how many scumbags there truly are out there. I hate people like this…and hate is a very strong word but someone who shoots someone else to try and rob them is a waste of life. These people should stop being a waste to the world and get a job! It seems like this kid will fully recover and I hope he has a great season!
