Pedro Martinez will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks with what the New York Mets said was a mild strain of his left hamstring.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner was placed on the 15-day disabled list before the Mets’ game against the Florida Marlins on Wednesday night. Martinez was injured Tuesday night, returned to New York and was examined by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He allowed four runs in 3 1-3 innings during a 5-4, 10-inning defeat, limping off the mound after injuring himself during a pitch.

All right so is this a huge loss for the Mets and are going to hear the cries that there season is over…absolutly not! Do you know what month it is…ITS APRIL and they play about a million games a season so the Mets will be fine. Now on to Pedro, I dont think that the Mets will miss him much because I am not gonna lie to ya he is getting a little old.

You figure before he got hurt in the game yesterday he allowed 4 fours in 3 innings that does not sound like the Pedro we know. So maybe some time on the DL will help him realize that he needs to step up his game! If the Mets did not have Santana they would have been worried but they do and Pedro is old old old!
