You better know your rules before you bet

The baseball game between Detroit and Minnesota on Wednesday is a prime example. In the bottom of the fourth inning Detroit had a 9 to 4 lead. I am sure that who ever had bet the game over 7 1/2 runs were marking a winner and who ever had the under were sulking in there soup.

But then the rains came.

The game was called in the bottom of the 6th inning. Final score 9-4. Detroit is the winner, but the run line and total is a NO PLAY. That’s right NO PLAY. Official rules state

“ wagers on MLB totals and run lines are considered official once nine innings have been played or 8 1/2 innings if the home team is ahead.”

WHY DO THE LINES MOVE

Lines on games change for several reasons, Injuries, smart money, and the public. I have got the beat on why the lines move. It is not because I work with a syndicate or am associated with a syndicate. It is not because I have inside information or injury before it happens. I know what the average bettor will look for before they bet. THis gives me a huge advantage of who will WIN the game. I know what the lines makers look for before they set the line.

There really aren’t a ton of line services out there. The things I look for are the following: How fast the information arrives. The most user friendly. Minimal interuptions. A large number of casinos/ sports on the site ie. UFL, SOCCER and many others.
