Steriods In Football?

With all of this steriod talk in baseball, sportsbook and sports betting talk, I got to thinking about the use of steriods in the NFL. Here’s what I came up with…Two things either the NFL’s testing policy is unbelievable so not many players use steriods or that the NFL does is not strong on testing and there are ways around it for the players. But whatever the NFL is doing apparently they are doing the right thing to keep all the questions away from them. I think that out of the major sports in the US football would be the one that you would most be likely to use performance enhancing drugs, espically right out of college because it is such a huge jump from college to the pros. These men in this sport are so big and fast and they hit real real hard that if you are a little man(no disrespect to the little guy…because I am one) you are going to take a beating in the NFL from linebackers and safetys.

The NFL’s policy for testing positive for the use of performance enhancing drugs is a suspension of 4 games without pay. That is a quarter of there season. Thats a lot of money to lose for that certain player. When San Diego Chargers linebacker, Sean Merriman got suspeneded for 4 games for using testing positive it was only a big deal for about 7 minutes then no one talked about it at all. But when someone in baseball test positive or is accused of using steriods like Roger Clemens it is in the news on a daily basis. Now I am not saying that Merriman is to football as Clemens is to baseball but still they both supposedly steriods and one is taking a beating for it and the other got off cold turkey. To compare Merriman to someone in baseball who use steriods, I would say that he is like Miguel Tejada. And Tejada is in the news not as much as Clemens but about everyother day.

I think that this is total BS…Merriman cheated and got suspended that I am ok wiht but what I am not cool with is that after he was suspended it was never talked about again. Why I don’t no, is it because there is no congressional hearing about this stuff in the NFL or is it because the NFL is perfect and no one can say anything bad. Who really knows, but that question should be brought up more with all this steriod talk.

UNBELIEVEABLE!

Its about time that I start telling all you people out there who are still a little shaky about betting# my picks that its about time you do. I mean I am 7-1 in my last 8 picks with my only loss coming when I picked the Spurs over the Pistons in San Antonio. This was the game the Spurs did not even show up…so if it was not for that game then I would be a perfect 8-0 but I lost…I dont give excuses.

Center Stage with Congress

Representative Henry Waxman opened up his statements this morning by saying that when it comes to steriods everyone in baseball is responsible. He goes on to say that the use of performance enhancing drugs and human growth horomone have been in use in baseball for more then a decade and that Major League Baseball was slow and ineffective in responding to the scandal. I totally agree with that statement. Major League Baseball did not even look into this way back when McGwire and Sosa were hitting a million home runs in the 98 season. Or when Canseco came back from an offseason and went from a size medium shirt to a double X in a matter of months.

The real question is would Major League Baseball have started to look into steriods if it was not for the BALCO scandal a few years back…well I am going to answer that for you…NO THEY WOULD NOT HAVE! They would have just thrown in under the rug like they have been for years. But now that they are under so much scurtiny I believe that Commisioner Seelig and Donald Fehr are doing a much better job and a more thorough job to try and stop the CHEATERS from using these drugs. (speaking of cheaters, this is kinda off topic but needs to be said, The way that I have been picking you would think I was cheating…I dont want to toot my own horn or anything but toot toot bc if you would have taken my bets in the last week you would be up a good amount of change…I am 7-1 in my last 8 picks so what I am saying is start sport betting! check back for my free pick a little later after I talk to my guy in Vegas!)…now back to juicing…Major League Baseball is on the right path finally now to stop the use of performance enhancing drugs and eventually I feel that will minimize the problem…will they totally stop it no because there will always be cheaters out there but it will be minimized!
